Qigong (chee-gong) is an ancient Chinese healing method, using slow movements similar to Taich. Breathing, meditation and medical Qigong therapy are all categories of Qigong practice. Our Qigong classes does not teach medical Qigong but includes slow, light movements and forms with concious breathing. Qigong is known as "Chinese Yoga" and also "Moving Meditation".
Qigong helps to release tension in the body, relieve stress, calm the mind, provide mental clarity, and improve flexibility and balance. Qigong also can help prevent injury, promote self-healing, and increase longevity among many other benefits!
Wear comfortable cloths and indoor shoes or slippers. Most exercises will be performed in a standing position for 45-60 minutes. Chairs will be available for the class at the Senior Center. No experience is nesessory. Please feel free to email if you have any questions:
